Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and measure how the site is used. HTML5 "localStorage" works the same way and is covered by this policy.
2. What we use
The Costa Taxi CY website uses only a small number of strictly-necessary cookies and localStorage entries. We do NOT use third-party advertising, re-targeting or analytics cookies.
3. Strictly-necessary cookies (no consent required under EU law)
• `admin_token` — authenticates administrator sessions on the /admin panel. • `costa_lang` — remembers your language choice (en/el/ru/de/he). • `costa_consent_*` — remembers that you dismissed a banner (e.g. install nudge). These are first-party, same-domain, and strictly needed to deliver the service you asked for.
4. localStorage entries we use
`costa_recent_addresses` (your recent pickup / destination searches), `costa_nudge_dismissed_at` (banner dismissal), `costa_push_subscribed` (whether you opted in to push notifications), `costa_review_draft` (unsaved review text). All stored on your device only — never sent to our server unless you submit a form.
5. Third-party services that may set cookies
When you use certain pages the following first-party integrations may set their own cookies on their own domains: Google Maps (map tiles + address autocomplete), Stripe (payment processing), YouTube (if we ever embed a video). You can review their privacy policies directly on their websites. We do not share your identity with them beyond what the service technically requires (e.g. your IP for a map lookup).
6. Push notifications
If you opt in to browser push notifications we store an anonymous VAPID subscription endpoint — not a cookie, but similar in spirit. You can revoke it any time in your browser or device settings.
7. How to clear cookies
Every browser lets you clear cookies and localStorage: Chrome → Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data; Safari → Settings → Clear History; iOS → Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data. Clearing cookies will log you out of /admin and reset language preference.
8. Do we show a cookie banner?
No — because we only use strictly-necessary cookies, EU ePrivacy law does not require a consent banner. If we ever add analytics or advertising cookies we will add a consent banner at that time and update this policy.
9. Changes
Changes to this policy will be announced on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
